Es Devlin: Room 2022

Room 2022, conceived by Es Devlin for American Express, was an ambitious exploration of space through a unique immersive installation. Within a 7,000sqft room inside the Miami Beach Edition Hotel, Room 2022 warped the experience of constant hotel travel experienced by Es Devlin, ending in a elliptical mirror maze.

As technical lead, my goal was translating the visionary concepts of Es Devlin and the team into a technologically advanced, experiential journey for visitors. Additionally, I authored a TouchDesigner program for the installations’s media playback and projection mapping needs.

The project's success hinged on a deep understanding of both the artistic vision and the technological possibilities. My contributions were instrumental in bridging these worlds, from the conceptual stages to the technical execution, ensuring that the immersive experience of "Room 2022" was not just envisioned but fully realized.
